The Eye Center now offers intra-vitreal injections for the treatment of some macular degeneration in individuals. Performed in a series, these injections of medication have been proven successful in slowing the progression of this disease. Laser therapy is another option available to stabilize and preserve eyesight. Close follow-up is necessary because of the rapid degeneration, frequently progressive, and recurrent, more aggressive treatment may be advisable.
