MEET DR. MACKEY
Joseph M. Mackey, M.D. was born and raised in Bloomington, IN. He initially graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor's in biology, and then he received a medical degree from the Indiana University Medical School, both with honors. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Florida in Gainesville.
Dr. Mackey was one of the first eye surgeons in Indiana to perform LenSx laser cataract surgery, and he has performed more than 10,000 ocular procedures at The Eye Center of Southern Indiana. He is dedicated to offering the best to his patients, providing safe and effective treatments featuring the most cutting-edge techniques and technologies.
Dr. Mackey was an accomplished athlete in high school, and he and his family remain avid sports enthusiasts. He and his wife, Meredith, have two children, Austin and Taylor, all of whom regularly enjoy playing tennis, like Dr. Mackey.
