MEET DR. HOLBROOK

Steven E. Holbrook, O.D. is a Hammond, IN native who received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University and his doctor of optometry (O.D.) degree from the IU School of Optometry. Following this, he trained under some of the world's most renowned optometrists and ophthalmologists at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida, still considered one of the premier training centers in the world. There, he studied advanced ocular disease along with various medical and surgical eye treatments.

After establishing one of the most prominent eye care centers in southern Florida, Dr. Holbrook and his wife, Beth, longed to return to their Indiana roots. Dr. Holbrook joined The Eye Center of Southern Indiana in 1997 and has been a dedicated eye care provider here for almost 30 years. Dr. Holbrook's tremendous success across the nation has earned him a respected position in the optometry and ophthalmology community.

SPECIALTIES AND EXPERTISE

Dr. Holbrook’s interests and experience for 40 years have been in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease. He has developed one of the larger glaucoma patient bases in the state but also spends a great deal of his time diagnosing complicated eye problems and helping patients decide how to choose the correct vision correcting implant for their cataract surgery. His friendly and lighthearted approach with patients is well liked and appreciated especially at times when serious vision threatening conditions are present, although his “dad” jokes might leave something to be desired.
